HUMIC ACIDS WH67®
The story behind them
Humic acids WH67® –
science and innovation
The success story of WH67® humic acids is the result of collaboration between WH Pharmawerk Weinböhla GmbH and Prof. Manfred Kühnert.

The search for alternatives
As the availability of antibiotics was severely limited in East Germany, the University of Leipzig was commissioned by the government to search for available antibiotic alternatives. The WH67® humic acids were thus investigated by Prof. Manfred Kühnert at the University of Leipzig as early as the 1960s. As part of his research work, he was looking for solutions to treat diarrhoea in young animals.
Focus: Animal nutrition
GITES made WH67® humic acids available to livestock and the animal feed industry after this form of utilisation had been forgotten following reunification. Today, WH67® humic acids are a valuable component in feed concepts designed to support gut health and function in livestock.
